It was 2020—a year etched in history, though not for reasons any of us would have chosen. COVID-19 was spreading across the globe, and with it came an unprecedented demand for testing.
Back then, GoRev was known primarily for its best-in-class RCM features. That was our bread and butter. But the pandemic forced a dramatic pivot. Almost overnight, our team found ourselves innovating in ways we hadn’t planned but were suddenly critical.
Picture the scene: lines of cars snaking through parking lots, filled with masked patients inching toward outdoor testing tents. To meet this need, our developers quickly built a digital, contactless registration system to augment GoRev’s existing UI. Patients could register on their phones, roll up for a swab, and later log in to view their results. The only physical interaction was that brief, uncomfortable moment when the swab met the nostrils. We couldn’t help but feel proud—technology was helping stop the spread.
Testing at the time relied heavily on PCR machines, and it quickly became obvious: manual processes weren’t going to cut it. Nobody wanted to repeat the same steps thousands of times a day. So, our team got to work integrating directly with PCR devices. Another win for efficiency, another step forward in what was starting to feel like a fight we could actually help with.
And then came the QR code era. Remember that? You couldn’t board a flight without proving a negative test. Here’s a fun fact: GoRev was the very first to roll out QR-code-based results. Yes—first. We even purchased the domain covidqrcodes.com and developed the website, and for the first time in our history, expanded internationally. From patient registration to PCR integration to QR code verification, GoRev had quietly built a full COVID-fighting platform. Our Lab Implementation team barely touched the ground, traveling constantly to set up labs and integrate devices. We hadn’t seen it coming, but we were ready.
When the dust of peak-COVID finally settled, one thing was clear: we had the foundations of a complete LIMS system. Over the next year, our development team doubled down—refining, expanding, and building a solution designed to power small clinical labs from front to back, fully integrated with every device in the workflow.
Today, you can find GoRev LIMS being used in ERs, hospitals and high complexity freestanding labs across the country. Beyond just functionality, one of its greatest strengths is systems consolidation. In healthcare, fewer platforms isn’t just convenient—it’s essential.
If your organization is ready to simplify and consolidate, GoRev is one of the strongest options available. No other platform combines the depth of a full LIMS with the unmatched power of a competent RCM backend—wrapped in a customer service experience that consistently exceeds expectations.
