Every company has an origin story, but few are as deeply rooted in healthcare as GoRev’s. The story begins with the Griffin brothers, who grew up in a home where the realities of modern healthcare were part of everyday conversation. Their mother was a Chief Nursing Officer and their father a hospital CFO, giving them a front-row view of a world where great clinical care was often overshadowed by operational challenges.
While most children overheard conversations about homework and weekend plans, the Griffin brothers heard about workflow bottlenecks, documentation struggles, reimbursement delays, and the strain outdated systems placed on hospital staff. They saw how hard their parents worked to keep a healthcare organization running and became aware of something important: the tools meant to support healthcare professionals were often making their jobs harder rather than easier.
That lesson stayed with them. Brandon, the oldest brother, pursued computer science at the University of Illinois and helped establish the technical direction they would eventually follow. Rather than heading to Silicon Valley after graduation, the brothers moved to the healthcare-rich city of Houston, Texas, and began building software with a clear purpose.
A Shared Vision Takes Shape
The family’s connection to healthcare provided the initial spark, but GoRev was shaped through the combined efforts of a close-knit group of early partners. Andrew Lindquist and Chris Harris became integral members of the team during the company’s formative years, working alongside the Griffin brothers to turn a deeply personal idea into a functional platform and a growing business. Each partner brought different strengths and perspectives to the effort, and together they contributed to the development, implementation, refinement, and direction of GoRev.
What united the early team was a shared belief that healthcare technology should be shaped by the people who actually use it. They wanted to build software around real operational needs—not abstract theories—and create tools that made the work of healthcare professionals simpler, faster, and more manageable.
Built Through Listening
The early days of GoRev were fueled by continuous learning. The team spent long hours writing code, observing clinical and administrative workflows, and listening to nurses, billers, schedulers, coders, and hospital leaders describe the frustrations that slowed them down. Slowly and steadily, GoRev began to take shape: a system designed to simplify rather than complicate, to support rather than burden, and to work with healthcare organizations instead of against them.
Growth Through Real-World Results
Over the next fifteen years, GoRev evolved through relentless development and real-world refinement. Hospitals, laboratories, ambulatory surgery centers, and revenue-cycle organizations adopted the platform based on the results they were seeing. That growth did not come from large marketing campaigns or aggressive sales pushes; there were none.
Nowhere was this more evident than in the freestanding emergency center community, where GoRev became the dominant operating platform in the market. Today, nearly 90 percent of those facilities rely on GoRev, a level of adoption achieved almost entirely through word of mouth.
The Mission Continues
GoRev’s success is the result of technology built by people committed to understanding healthcare from the inside. For the Griffin brothers, that understanding began at home. For the founding team as a whole, it grew through years of working directly with healthcare organizations, listening to their challenges, and continually improving the platform around their needs.
That shared foundation continues to guide GoRev today. As the platform expands into new specialties and markets, the mission remains the same: simplify the work, support healthcare providers, and create a smoother path from patient intake to financial resolution.
